Exciting New Programming for Grades 2-5
The Henry Ford’s Summer Camps are back with reimagined project-based activities and lessons which focus on The Henry Ford’s own Model i Innovation Learning Framework, where students will learn about and develop skills based on the habits of an innovator: Stay Curious, Be Empathetic, Collaborate, Challenge the Rules, Take Risks, and Learn from Failure.

We strive to care for the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff. For the summer of 2022, we will be following guidelines from the CDC and Wayne County Health.
Camp Features
All camps run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (extended care available for additional cost). Campers will be immersed in the museum and village atmosphere for a unique and engaging experience. Each camp features:

Before you register
Registration Information
All registration is online and uses a THF login. To ensure you have the best experience, consider creating a THF login prior to registration (members will use your THF Member login). We recognize that your information is sensitive, and it will not be shared with anyone outside of camp staff. If you have questions directly related to registration, please call 313.982.6001. For any program related questions please email summercamp@thf.org.
Information You Will Need to Provide at Registration
Preferred Parent/Guardian E-mail Address
- All camp communication will happen via email. Please provide a preferred parent/guardian email address where all camp communication should be sent.
Emergency Contacts
- Names and phone numbers of 2 emergency contacts
Approved Pick-Up List
- Names of 3 adults who are authorized to pick up your child
- There is room to include the name of any adult who is NOT authorized to pick up your child.
Friend Requests
- One friend request
- If your child has a friend who is also registering for the same week and camp level and they wish to be in the same group, please include their information here.
Documentation You Will Need to Provide Before Camp Begins
You will be asked to complete an online form that includes the following information three weeks before your camp session. The form will be sent to the email you provided at registration and MUST BE COMPLETED by a parent or legal guardian within 3 days or you risk losing your camp slot.

The Henry Ford Summer Camp 2022 Handbook
Your registration requires that you have read and understand the information provided in the handbook.
The Waitlist
If the camp you would like to purchase is already sold out, you can add yourself to the waitlist online. Additional sessions may be created to accommodate additional campers depending on staff and resource availability.
If a space becomes available, you will receive an email with a registration code that is ONLY active for 24 hours. If you do not secure your space within 24 hours, the space will be offered to the next child on the waitlist.
Refund Policy
The last day to receive a full refund is May 11. Refunds, partial or otherwise, after this date will only be considered in the event of significant injury or illness. Camps are nontransferable.
Medication and Allergies
Camp staff is not allowed to administer any medication; all medication must be self-administered (with the exception of epi-pens).
If your camper needs medication throughout the week, please email camp staff at summercamp@thf.org.
Please note that The Henry Ford Summer Camp is NOT a nut-free camp. Camp Staff does their best to accommodate allergies, but we do not restrict any foods from camp. Please be sure to list any allergies in your registration materials. Staff will make sure your camper’s counselors are informed.
Camp Staff is First Aid/CPR certified.

Summer Camp
Hands-on experiences for an unforgettable week
At The Henry Ford Summer Camp we welcome children, families and staff of all cultures, religions, sexual orientation and gender identification, family constructs and abilities.
